Frost Advisory, Wind Advisory
Statement as of 2:53 PM CDT on April 19, 2015

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 PM CDT this evening...
... Frost advisory in effect from 4 am to 10 am CDT Monday...

The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a frost
advisory... which is in effect from 4 am to 10 am CDT Monday.

* Event... north winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts to near 50 to 55 mph
are expected across the eastern Oklahoma Panhandle and over much of
the Texas Panhandle through early this evening. Temperatures will
fall into the mid 30s across the Oklahoma panahndle and all but the
southeast portion of the Texas Panhandle tonight. This may lead to
the development of frost.

* Timing... strong northerly winds will remain strong until around
early this evening. Frost formation is possible between 3 am and 10
am Monday morning.

* Impacts... the strong north winds will make driving difficult...
especially on west to east oriented roads. Loose or lightweight
outdoor objects such as lawn furniture or trash cans may be blown
around by the strong wind. Where frost forms... sensitive plants and
vegetation that are outside may be damaged or killed if left unprotected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

A frost advisory means that minimum temperatures of 33 to
36 degrees are expected with wind speeds less than 10 mph. These
conditions may or may not cause frost to develop. However... sensitive
plants may be killed if left uncovered.
