Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 6:02 PM CDT on June 29, 2015

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
eastern Washita County in western Oklahoma...
northwestern Caddo County in southwestern Oklahoma...
southern Custer County in western Oklahoma...

* until 800 PM CDT

* at 555 PM CDT... National Weather Service radar indicated heavy rain
that will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the advisory
area. Up to 2 to 3 inches of rain has fallen in the past hour in
some locations.

* Some locations that will experience minor flooding include
Cordell... Binger... corn... Dill City... Eakly... Bessie... Colony...
Cloud Chief and Alfalfa.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 3 inches is possible over the area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... highways and underpasses. Additionally... country
roads and farmlands along the banks of creeks... streams and other low
lying areas are subject to flooding.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office in
Norman.
