Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 2:34 AM CDT on July 07, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 1 PM CDT this afternoon
through Wednesday evening...

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of north central Arkansas...
including the following areas... Baxter... Boone... Marion...
Newton and Searcy.

* From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Wednesday evening

* a cold front will stall just north of the state this
evening... with several rounds of showers and thunderstorms
possible through much of Wednesday. As a result... heavy
rainfall and the threat for flash flooding will increase.

* Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected... with the
highest amounts expected across the far northwest sections of
the area. Locally higher amounts will be possible. Some of these
same areas have dealt with flash flooding in recent days... and
given the terrain in this region of the state... the potential
for flash flooding will increase.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
