... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am CST
Thursday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am CST Thursday.

* Event... freezing rain... sleet... and snow... will spread across
northern Arkansas.

* Accumulations... snow and sleet accumulations will range from 3
to 6 inches... with the largest amounts to the northeast toward
Batesville and Newport. Some light freezing rain accumulations
may also be possible... with up to a tenth of an inch before
precipitation transitions to sleet and snow.

* Timing... this event will unfold mainly this afternoon and
tonight.

* Impacts... travel issues are expected on area roadways...
especially given well below freezing temperatures tonight.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow... sleet...
and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.





Flood Warning
Statement as of 10:22 AM CST on March 04, 2015

The Flood Warning continues for
the Cache River near Patterson.
* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 9:00 am Wednesday the stage was 9.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast... although the river is currently falling it will begin
to rise over the weekend... cresting just over 9.5 feet by the middle
of next week.
* Impacts at 10.0 feet... pastureland and cropland not protected by
levees in Jackson and Woodruff counties affected. Water is deep along
the shoulders of State Highway 18 near Grubbs. Water over portions of
Woodruff County Road 775 north of State Highway 260.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Black River at Black Rock.
* From Thursday afternoon until further notice... or until the warning
is cancelled.
* At 9:00 am Wednesday the stage was 8.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Thursday afternoon and
continue to rise to near 17.0 feet by Saturday.
* Impacts at 17.0 feet... low lying cultivated land and pastures in
Lawrence, Jackson, and Independence counties flood.

A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 am CST Thursday.

* Event... north to northeast winds will average 15 to 25
mph... with gusts to 35 mph expected.

* Timing... gusty winds are expected through tonight.

* Areas affected... this advisory affects places southeast of
Hardy... Conway and Murfreesboro.

* Impacts... blowing and drifting of snow will be noted as winds
pick up... especially in northeast Arkansas where the heaviest
snow is expected. Power outages could also occur in the
northeast... and also in the southeast where icing could become
significant.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
