Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 11:02 AM CST on March 02, 2015

The National Weather Service in New Orleans has issued an

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
East Feliciana Parish in southeast Louisiana...
this includes the cities of... Jackson... Clinton...
Pointe Coupee Parish in southeast Louisiana...
this includes the city of New Roads...
St. Helena Parish in southeast Louisiana...
this includes the city of Greensburg...
Tangipahoa Parish in southeast Louisiana...
this includes the city of Amite...
Washington Parish in southeast Louisiana...
West Feliciana Parish in southeast Louisiana...
this includes the city of St. Francisville...

* until 100 PM CST

* at 1054 am CST Doppler radar indicated an area of showers and
thunderstorms moving east over portions of southeast Louisiana.

These showers and storms have been training over the advised area
this morning and expect more development of showers and storms off
to the west to move over the advised area through this afternoon.
There has already been up to 2 inches of rainfall over the last
three hours in this area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
