... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 815 PM CDT for
Sedgwick County...

At 612 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned
area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen in a short
amount of time. Flash flooding is already occurring. Water covered
roads can be expected throughout Wichita. Stalled vehicles along
with water rescues are ongoing across east parts of the city.

* until 1000 PM CDT

* at 453 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain which will cause flooding. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen in portions of the area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wichita... Derby... Andover... Haysville... Mulvane... Goddard... Rose
Hill... Clearwater... Cheney... Garden Plain... downtown Wichita...

Wednesday evening...

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of south central Kansas and
southeast Kansas... including the following areas... in south
central Kansas... Butler... Cowley... Harper... Sedgwick and
Sumner. In southeast Kansas... Allen... Chautauqua... Elk...
Greenwood... Labette... Montgomery... Neosho... Wilson and
Woodson.

* From this evening through Wednesday evening.

* Heavy rain will develop across the area late this afternoon and
evening... continuing periodically through at least Wednesday.
Rainfall amounts between two and five inches are expected with
locally higher amounts possible.

* Rivers and streams may rise with flash flooding a possibility.
