... The Flood Warning remains in effect until 1100 am CDT for small streams in Barry... Barton... Cedar... Christian... Dade... Greene... Lawrence... Newton... northern McDonald... northern stone... Polk... southern Dallas... southern Vernon and Webster counties...
At 642 am CDT... residual flooding continued over numerous secondary roadways across portions of southwest Missouri. Several low water crossings were also impassable to motorists. This flooding occurred from heavy rains that impacted the Ozarks region yesterday.
Showers and thunderstorms will once again develop across the region today... which could lead to a another round of flooding this afternoon and this evening.
Runoff from this rain is causing flooding. Creeks... streams and low water crossings will be especially susceptible to the dangers of flooding.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. Most flood related deaths occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to cross water covered bridges... dips... or low water crossings. Never try to cross a flowing stream... even a small one... on foot or in a vehicle.

Christian... Dade... Dallas... Greene... Hickory... Jasper... Laclede... Lawrence... McDonald... Morgan... Newton... Polk... St. Clair... stone... Taney... Vernon and Webster.
* From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Friday morning
* additional heavy rainfall will be possible later this afternoon through the evening hours. This will fall over areas that received between 4 and 8 inches of rainfall Wednesday which may lead to additional flash flooding.
* Area rivers and streams... some of which are still rising from yesterdays heavy rain will likely flood. In addition... low water crossings will likely flood again with additional heavy rainfall.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
