Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 4:09 AM CDT on July 01, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Thursday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Missouri... south central Missouri and
southwest Missouri... including the following areas... in
central Missouri... Benton... Camden... Hickory... Maries...
Miller... Morgan... Phelps... Pulaski and St. Clair. In south
central Missouri... Dent... Howell... Oregon... Shannon and
Texas. In southwest Missouri... Dallas... Douglas... Laclede...
Polk... Webster and Wright.

* Through Thursday morning

* periods of showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move
through central Missouri from early this morning through
early Thursday morning. Rainfall amounts of two to four
inches are expected... with locally higher amounts over five
inches possible. The threat for flash flooding will
increase... especially over locations that experience
multiple rounds of thunderstorms.

* Remember to never drive through water covered roadways.
Additionally... be especially cautious at night as flooding
dangers are much more difficult to identify.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
