The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 8 am to 6 PM CST Monday.

* Timing... winds will increase early Monday morning behind a
strong cold front and low pressure over the Midwest.

* Winds... northwest winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 40 to 45
mph are expected.

* Impacts... strong Crosswinds on highways can be
expected... especially for high profile vehicles.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds

... Grassland fire danger conditions will increase this afternoon
across southeast Kansas and western Missouri...

Winds will become gusty midday through this evening with shifting
winds from westerly to northwesterly as a cold front moves across
the region later today. Wind gusts will approach 35 mph along
with low relative humidity levels.

Near crictical fire weather conditions along with dry and dormant
vegetation on the ground will cause any fires to rapidly spread
and become uncontrollable this afternoon and evening. Outdoor
burning is strongly discouraged today.
