Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 8:37 AM CDT on June 03, 2015

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued an

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
central Lafayette County in west central Missouri...
north central Johnson County in west central Missouri...
south central Ray County in west central Missouri...

* until 1130 am CDT

* at 835 am CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the advisory area. Doppler
radar estimated two to three inches of rain has fallen in this
area.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
occur... especially along small streams and near low water
crossings. Some locations that will experience minor flooding
include... Lexington... Odessa... Richmond... Hardin... Henrietta...
Mayview and Wellington.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from this storm will cause minor flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... as well as farmland along the
banks of creeks and streams.

Most deaths in flash flooding occur in automobiles. Do not attempt to
cross bridges... dips... or low water crossings if water covers the
roadway. Never try to cross a flowing stream... even a small one... on
foot or in a vehicle.
