Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 2:00 PM CDT on July 01, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 7 PM CDT this evening
through Thursday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southern Illinois... western Kentucky and southeast
Missouri... generally south of a line from Carbondale Illinois to
Greenville Kentucky including Paducah... Cape Girardeau... Poplar
Bluff... Murray and Hopkinsville.

* From 7 PM CDT this evening through Thursday evening.

* Rains will total 2 to 3 inches on average tonight through
Thursday. These broad and uniform rainfall amounts will lead to
areal flooding. Where thunderstorms occur and repeat over the
same areas... locally higher amounts to 5 inches are a
possibility. This may cause flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
