Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 12:06 PM CDT on July 02, 2015

The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Jefferson County in east central Missouri...

* until noon CDT Friday

* at 1204 PM CDT... law enforcement and Department of Transportation
resources indicate a number of roads remain closed due to flooding
from heavy rainfall last night.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Arnold... Festus... De Soto... Pevely... Crystal City... Herculaneum...
Hillsboro... Byrnes Mill... Cedar Hill... Antonia... Barnhart...
Murphy... high ridge... Oakville... Olympian Village... Cedar Hill
Lakes... Dittmer... House Springs... Horine and Imperial.

This warning also includes ... mastodon historic site... Sandy Creek
Covered Bridge historic site... and gov. Dunklin's grave historic
site.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
