... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Wednesday evening through
Thursday evening...

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southern Illinois... southwest
Indiana and western Kentucky... generally to the north of a line
from Harrisburg Illinois to Calhoun Kentucky.

* From Wednesday evening through Thursday evening

* showers and thunderstorms will produce widespread 2 to 3 inch
rainfalls. Some locally higher amounts will be possible.

* Strong thunderstorms will produce torrential rainfall that may
quickly inundate drainage systems... resulting in flash
flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

Wayne... northeastern white... Gibson... Vanderburgh... northeastern
Posey... Warrick and Pike counties until 600 PM CDT...

At 515 PM CDT... Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Fairfield Illinois to
near Grayville to near Blairsville Indiana... moving northeast at 40
mph.

Nickel size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Evansville... Princeton... Mount Carmel... Fairfield... Fort Branch...
Oakland City... Petersburg... Albion... Poseyville... West
Salem... and Winslow.

Those attending the corn festival in Oakland City are in the path of
these storms and should prepare for imminent dangerous weather
conditions.
