The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
northern Vermilion County in east central Illinois...

* until 1230 PM CDT

* at 932 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Rainfall amounts of 3 to 5
inches have been estimated by Doppler radar since 7 am... north of
I-74 between Royal and Potomac. Additional thunderstorms further
north have produced 2 to 3 inches of rain southwest of Hoopeston.
Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Danville... Hoopeston... Oakwood... Rossville... Potomac... Fithian...
Muncie... Bismarck... Henning... Vermilion County Airport...
Collison... Alvin... Middle Fork wildlife area and Armstrong.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are likely in the
warned area... especially southwest of Hoopeston.

This includes Interstate 74 between mile markers 199 and 209.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
southwestern Vermilion County in east central Illinois...
northwestern Edgar County in east central Illinois...
southeastern Champaign County in east central Illinois...
eastern Douglas County in east central Illinois...

* until 1130 am CDT

* at 830 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2.5 inches have fallen
since 7 am... mainly in areas from Philo southeast to Newman.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Philo... Newman... Hume... Broadlands... Brocton... Allerton...
Murdock... Metcalf... Longview and Palermo.

Additional rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is expected over the area
through 10 am. This additional rain will make minor flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
