Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 3:22 PM CDT on July 07, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Wednesday afternoon through
Thursday morning...

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Illinois and Indiana...
including the following areas... in Illinois... Ford...
Iroquois... Kankakee and Livingston. In Indiana... Benton...
Jasper and Newton.

* From Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning.

* Showers and a few thunderstorms are expected to spread north
through the Kankakee River valley Wednesday... and then shift
east Wednesday night. Persistent steady rain is expected with
embedded heavier showers associated with thunderstorms. The
highest rainfall amounts will fall over the watch area which is
still recovering from heavy rain that fell Monday night.
Therefore... flash flooding is possible.

* Rainfall amounts of one to two inches with locally higher
amounts expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
