Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 2:15 AM CDT on August 29, 2015

The National Weather Service in Duluth MN has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
central Cook County in northeastern Minnesota...

* until 515 am CDT

* at 212 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to showers
and thunderstorms moving through the area. This will cause minor
flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen from around Grand Marais to around Hovland and back
toward Eagle Mountain.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Grand Marais... Cascade river State Park... Eagle Mountain... Judge C.
R. Magney State Park... judge magney State Park... Two Island Lake...
Devil Track Lake... and Cascade Lake.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
