	Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 3:27 AM CST on December 08, 2009 ... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am CST Wednesday... A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am CST Wednesday. Accumulating snowfall will continue to spread into the area through this morning... then continue through tonight. The heaviest snowfall is expected this afternoon and evening... with accumulating snowfall tapering off after midnight. Total snowfall accumulations of 6 to 10 inches are expected... with the heaviest amounts in the Sioux City to Storm Lake areas. Strong northerly winds of 25 to 35 mph can also be expected by late this afternoon through tonight... which will produce widespread blowing and drifting snow... .along with wind chill values of 10 to 20 degrees below zero. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
