... Wind Advisory remains in effect until noon CST Monday...

* timing... the strongest winds should occur this afternoon and
evening... but windy conditions will continue through all of
Sunday night.

* Weather conditions... sustained wind speeds between 25 and 35
mph are expected... with gusts to 50 mph or greater Sunday
afternoon and evening. The gusty winds will decrease slightly
later Sunday night... but will still range between 25 and 40
mph.

* Snow accumulations/impacts... brief snow showers may also
impact the advisory area late this afternoon and Sunday night.
Accumulations will vary from up to one half inch near and west
of Interstate 29... and up to around an inch in northwest Iowa.
Areas of blowing snow will develop and could lead to lower
visibility and minor travel difficulties through Monday
morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds are forecast to be
31 to 39 mph or gusts will range between 46 and 57 mph. Winds of
these magnitudes may cause minor property damage without extra
precautions. Motorists in high profile vehicles should use
caution until the winds subside.

... Strong winds leading to drifting snow over roadways...

Strong northwesterly winds will continue to produce minor blowing
and drifting snow over Road surfaces. While visibility due to
blowing snow has not been severely impacted... brief reductions
under 2 miles may be possible if scattered snow Showers Pass
through an area. Slippery spots are to be expected in many
locations... but especially in rural and open areas.

Drivers are urged to use extra caution through the overnight
hours as winds will not subside until mid-day Monday. Blowing
snow is expected to continue. Motorists are urged to reduce speed
and drive to conditions.
