Special Statement
Statement as of 11:59 PM CDT on August 29, 2015

... Areas of dense fog will develop overnight...

The widespread stratus that had been over Iowa has broken up over
southeast Iowa and skies cleared fairly rapidly. Fog quicklydeveloped
in these areas with visibilities dropping to widespread one half
mile with local visibilities to a quarter mile. These conditions
will persist for the next few hours but the stratus is expected to
fill back in across central Iowa. When that happens we will see
low cloud ceilings but visibilities from the fog will improve
some. If you are out driving tonight be prepared for rapid
reductions in visibilities... especially in low lying areas and
locations where the skies clear.
