Flood Watch / Flood Statement
Statement as of 5:22 PM CDT on September 02, 2015

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
central Menominee County in south central Upper Michigan...

* until 815 PM CDT

* at 514 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
very heavy rain west of Powers... and radar indicates 2 to 3 inches
of rain has fallen over the past hour. This heavy rainfall on top
of the 1 to 2 inches that fell earlier in the day will cause Urban
and Small Stream flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Powers... Hermansville... Bagley... Wilson... Spalding... Nadeau...
Gourley... Faithorn... Carney... Nathan... Cunard and Banat.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
