Lake Effect Snow Advisory
Issued: 4:42 AM EST Feb. 13, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Lake effect Snow Advisory in effect until 2 PM EST this
afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a lake
effect Snow Advisory for lake effect snow and blowing snow... which
is in effect until 2 PM EST this afternoon. The lake effect snow
warning has been cancelled.

Hazardous weather...

* light to moderate lake effect snow to the east of Marquette will
continue into this afternoon before diminishing. Expect light snow
or flurries over the rest of Marquette County.

* Northwest winds gusting to 30 mph near Lake Superior... especially
to the east of Harvey... will result in blowing snow and reduced
visibilities to one half mile or less.

* Additional snow accumulations into this afternoon will be less
than an inch over most of Marquette County. Isolated amounts up
to 3 inches may occur to the east of Harvey... including at Shot
   Point.

* Wind chill readings will be as low as 25 below zero this morning.

Impacts...

* due to blowing and drifting snow and poor visibility at
times... Highway M-28 remains closed between kawbawgam Road near
Harvey... east to Munising. Elsewhere... snow covered roads will
remain slippery and patchy blowing and drifting snow will reduce
visibility in open areas... especially this morning.

* Wind chill values to 25 below zero can lead to frost bite on
exposed skin in as little as 15 minutes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a lake effect Snow Advisory Means Lake effect snow is
forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas.

* Prepare... plan... and stay informed. Visit www.Weather.Gov/MQT
