* Hazards: heavy snow will overspread northeast lower Michigan this evening and continue through Wednesday. Cold air and strong winds will sweep into the region Wednesday night behind the departing low pressure system... leading to the development of lake effect snow showers and creating areas of blowing and drifting snow.
* Snow accumulation: snow accumulation of 5 to 10 inches is expected across the warned area through the day on Wednesday... with an additional 1 to 2 inches likely into Wednesday night. Snowfall totals will be lowest southeast of a line from Gladwin to West Branch to Harrisville... where precipitation may change to a mix of rain and snow or even just plain rain for a time Wednesday morning.
* Impacts: visibilities will drop to a quarter mile or less within the heavy snow. Roads will become snow covered and hazardous. Strong winds will cause substantial blowing and drifting snow... which will further deteriorate travel conditions.
