==Discussion==

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Snow, heavy at times, with accumulations of 15 to 20 centimetres is
expected today, ahead of a low pressure system which will pass over
the Avalon Peninsula this evening. Snow will begin early this
afternoon and become heavy at times by late afternoon. The snow will
taper to scattered flurries this evening. In addition, strong
northeasterly winds will combine with the fresh snowfall to bring a
period of reduced visibilities in blowing snow late this afternoon.
Visibilities will improve throughout the evening as winds ease and
snowfall rates taper off.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail
lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Winter storm warnings are
issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to
occur together. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts
issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an
email to weathernlwo(at)ec.Gc.CA or tweet reports to (hash)nlwx.
