Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 5:28 AM MST on March 01, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 2 PM Monday to 11 am
MST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Missoula has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow, blowing snow and cold wind chills... which
is in effect from 2 PM Monday to 11 am MST Tuesday.

* Impacts/timing: a moist weather disturbance will combine with an
Arctic air mass to produce accumulating snow, gusty northeast
winds and cold wind chills late Monday afternoon through Tuesday
morning. Heavy snow bands producing significant snow in a short
period of time are possible. Travel will be impacted,
especially during the Monday evening commute, due to snow and
blowing snow. The cold and wet conditions will impact Newborn
livestock.

* Snow accumulations: 2 to 4 inches, locally higher.

* Blowing snow: visibility quickly reduced to less than a mile at
times, especially near Hellgate Canyon.

* Wind chills: 5 below zero to 15 below zero starting Monday
evening. Colder wind chills to near 20 below zero in southwest
Montana.

* Locations impacted include... Evaro hill... Highway 200 Thompson
Falls to plains... Highway 200 Trout Creek to Heron... I-90
Lookout Pass to Haugan... Bitterroot valley... Missoula...
Highway 93 Sula to Lost Trail Pass... Lolo Pass... Butte...
Georgetown Lake... Highway 12 Garrison to Elliston... Homestake
pass... MacDonald Pass... Highway 200 Bonner to Greenough...
Highway 83 Seeley Lake to Condon... I-90 East Missoula to
Bearmouth

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be
prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use
caution while driving.

Cold wind chills will result in frost bite and lead to
hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must venture
outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
