The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Central Pennington County in west central South Dakota...

* until 1130 PM MDT Tuesday

* at 1125 PM MDT... rapid creek and its feeder streams continue to
run high late this evening with some locations reporting minor
flooding and most gages reporting bankfull conditions. Automated
gages show water is receding or holding steady from Pactola
Reservoir to Rapid City... but rising east of Rapid City to the
Cheyenne river. Minor flooding will continue for these areas
through much of Tuesday.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rapid
City... southwestern Rapid Valley... Johnson Siding... Hisega...
Caputa... and Farmingdale.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Move up to
higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to
flooding when water begins rising.

The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
south Central Pennington County in west central South Dakota...
northeastern Custer County in southwestern South Dakota...

* until 1000 am MDT Wednesday

* at 1005 PM MDT... reporting gauges near Rockerville on Spring Creek
showed minor flooding was occurring. Spring Creek stream levels
will run very high tonight through Wednesday morning from
Rockerville to the Cheyenne river due to recent heavy rainfall
over the central Black Hills and adjacent plains.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Folsom and Rockerville.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Move up to
higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to
flooding when water begins rising.
