Watches & Warnings

Winter Weather Advisory, Wind Chill Advisory
Issued: 3:48 AM CST Feb. 13, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 9 am CST this
morning...
... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 9 PM this evening to
noon CST Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
from 9 PM this evening to noon CST Sunday. The Winter Storm Watch
is no longer in effect.

* Timing... northerly winds and dangerous wind chills through early
this morning. Snow and blowing snow threat Saturday night.

* Accumulations... 3 to 5 inches tonight.

* Wind and visibility... southeast winds 15 to 30 mph tonight
should cause visibilities to lower to less than a half mile in
snow and blowing snow. Brief whiteout conditions will be
possible.

* Wind chill values... wind chill values will be near 20 below zero
through mid morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow
around. Use caution when traveling... especially in open areas.

A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when a combination of wind and
cold temperatures will create dangerous conditions for exposed
skin. The wind will make it feel like it is 20 degrees below
zero or colder for a period of several hours. Those planning to
venture outdoors should dress warmly... making sure that all
exposed skin is covered.
