Heat Advisory
Statement as of 3:31 PM CDT on July 27, 2015

... Heat advisory in effect until 9 PM CDT Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a heat
advisory... which is in effect until 9 PM CDT Tuesday.

* Afternoon temperatures in the lower mid 90s combined with
oppressive humidity levels will produce heat index values in the
105 to 110 degree range Tuesday afternoon.

* A heat index of 105 is generally considered the threshold
where the body begins to succumb to the effects of the heat...
making heat exhaustion and heat stroke a greater concern if
precautions are not taken.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures and high
humidity levels are expected. This combination will create a
situation in which heat illnesses are possible. If you work or
plan to spend much time outside... take frequent breaks and drink
plenty of fluids. If possible... stay in an air-conditioned
environment... stay out of the sun as much as possible... and check
up on relatives and neighbors.
