Watches & Warnings

Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 9:52 AM CST Feb. 9, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 10 am EST
/9 am CST/ Wednesday...

* timing... intermittent snow showers... the greatest intensity
expected this afternoon and early evening.

* Main impact... light snow and periods of moderate snow showers
will impact travel. Roads will remain or become slick and snow
covered... especially secondary and untreated surfaces. An
additional 1 inch of accumulation is expected.

* Other impacts... gusty winds may reduce visibility at times.
Lingering moisture from Monday has frozen... creating a layer
of ice underneath the freshly fallen snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Research shows that more traffic accidents occur with an inch or
less of snow... before drivers realize that traction is reduced.
Don't become a statistic... slow down and leave extra distance
between vehicles.
