Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:40 PM EST on March 02, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 8 am to 7 PM EST
Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a
Winter Weather Advisory for snow... sleet... and freezing rain... which
is in effect from 8 am to 7 PM EST Tuesday.

Hazardous weather...

* precipitation will begin as snow between 8 and 10 am... mixing
with sleet. 2 to 4 inches of snow and sleet is expected.

* Periods of freezing rain are possible between around 1 PM and 7
PM. Up to a tenth of an inch of ice is expected.

* Heaviest precipitation is expected between 10 am and 4 PM.

Impacts...

* the combination of snow and ice will cause untreated roads to become
   hazardous.

* Reduced visibility in moderate to briefly heavy snow.

* Conditions will be particularly hazardous on secondary roads as
   liquid precipitation will freeze easier.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of
snow... sleet... and freezing rain will cause travel
difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited
visibilities... and use caution while driving.

* Prepare... plan... and stay informed.
