Watches & Warnings

Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 4:25 AM EST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 6 PM this
evening to 6 am EST Wednesday...

* rain showers will change to snow showers by this evening... and
temperatures will fall below freezing. Snow showers will
continue at times into Tuesday night... and then begin to taper
off.

* Snow will accumulate over a prolonged period... with totals by
late Tuesday night in the 2 to 4 inch range for most areas.

* As temperatures fall below freezing... roads and walkways will
become slippery... especially those which are untreated.
Localized heavy snow showers may also bring greatly reduced
visibility at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow
will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow
covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

Special Statement
Issued: 8:52 PM EST Feb. 7, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Freezing rain possible late tonight into early Monday
morning...

Light rain will overspread eastern Kentucky late tonight into
early Monday morning. Temperatures in valley locations are already
at or below freezing... and could go even lower. This will lead to
the threat of freezing rain late tonight. A light glaze of ice
could develop... especially on untreated surfaces... bridges...
decks... and sidewalks. The threat of icy conditions will occur
during the Monday morning commute. Temperatures will climb above
freezing by midday Monday... ending the threat.
