Winter Weather Advisory, Winter Storm Watch
Statement as of 2:22 AM EST on March 04, 2015

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 am EST early
this morning...
... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from this evening through
Thursday evening...

* locations... northern New London in Connecticut and western
Passaic in New Jersey.

* Hazard types... freezing rain overnight... then heavy snow
Wednesday night into Thursday.

* Accumulations... snow accumulation of 4 to 6 inches... along
with around a trace of ice.

* Timing... there will be some patchy freezing drizzle and
potential for more freezing rain before 5 am when
precipitation is expected to be plain rain. The rain then
mixes with sleet and snow before changing to all snow
Wednesday evening. Snow should taper off Thursday afternoon.

* Impacts... snow covered surfaces... coated with ice... will make
traveling difficult at times. Hazardous travel conditions are
expected due to greatly reduced visibilities and significant
snow accumulations.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
