Nowcast | as of 1:01 PM CDT on August 23, 2014

At 1250 PM CDT...the leading edge of a line of showers and thunderstorms was from Marengo to Elburn to Fairbury in Livingston County. These storms are moving to the east around 30 mph. The line should be near a Waukegan to Chicago to Rensselaer line between 130 PM and 200 PM CDT. The strongest storms are capable of producing heavy downpours and gusts to 40 mph. Heavy rainfall falling in a short time will result in ponding of water on roads and will also reduce visibility.
