... Flash Flood Watch in effect from this afternoon through late
Thursday night...

The National Weather Service in Jackson has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of south central
Kentucky and southeast Kentucky... including the following
areas... in south central Kentucky... McCreary... Wayne and
Whitley. In southeast Kentucky... Bell and Knox.

* From this afternoon through late Thursday night

* numerous to widespread thunderstorms will produce heavy to
locally torrential rains at times from this afternoon into
Thursday evening. Local rainfall amounts may exceed 3 inches in
a short amount of time.

* Flash flooding may result in dangerous conditions on roads
near streams and creeks... and in other flood prone areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
