from this is flooding low lying areas and tributary creeks and
streams and has led to Road closures on many roads near these
rivers. Except for the Kentucky River in Estill County... where the
river will not rest until Friday... the rivers have crested or are
nearing crest... and the water will begin recede out of the

the weekend in Estill County.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

Special Statement
Statement as of 4:34 AM EST on March 06, 2015

... Slick Road conditions will continue through this morning...

Many roads... particularly secondary and rural roads... will
continue to be slick or icy this morning due to the recent
snowfall... and cold temperatures. Patchy ground fog may also
contribute to making roads slick in a few locations.

Those traveling this morning should slow down and prepare for
longer travel times to your destination.
