Areas of fog will reduce visibilities to around one half mile this morning. A few spots will have visibilities down to one quarter mile or less. Most of the fog will occur in the foothills and in the I-25 corridor from the northern Denver suburbs to the Wyoming line...and also near the crest of the Palmer Divide near Monument. Areas of drizzle will also occur. Rain will increase late this morning and become heavier by afternoon. Morning drivers should be careful in areas of dense fog.

Dense Fog Advisory
Statement as of 8:28 AM MDT on May 05, 2015

... Dense fog advisory in effect until noon MDT today...

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until noon MDT today.

* Visibility... widespread visibilities of a quarter mile or
less... as low as a hundred yards in some places... especially on
ridges.

* Impacts... low visibilities will require slower speeds for
drivers. Be sure you can see at least four seconds ahead of your
vehicle. Use low beam headlights for the best visibility.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
