Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 6:38 PM CDT on August 04, 2015

The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
southeastern Mitchell County in north central Kansas...

* until 1130 PM CDT

* at 635 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory
area. At 630 PM... a trained weather spotter reported 2.33 inches
of rain with heavy rain still ongoing. An additional inch of rain
will be possible.

This includes the following streams and drainages... Marshall
Creek... leban creek... fourth creek... fifth creek and Salt Creek.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
