* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
central Douglas County in east central Kansas...
eastern Shawnee County in east central Kansas...
Jefferson County in northeastern Kansas...

* until 700 PM CDT

* at 455 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lawrence... Oskaloosa... Tecumseh... Eudora... Richland... Perry...
McLouth... Meriden... Ozawkie... Lecompton... Clinton... Williamstown...
and Grantville.

Additional rainfall of one to two inches inches is expected to fall
in less than an hour over the area. This additional rain will make
minor flooding.

This includes Kansas Turnpike between mile markers 184 and 205.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

to four inches of rain possible in a very short period late

possibly into Wednesday evening.

flooding of low lying areas as well as streams and creeks.
Additionally... flooding along larger rivers may develop as
well through Wednesday.
