The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast Arkansas and
Mississippi... including the following areas... in southeast
Arkansas... Ashley and Chicot. In Mississippi... Attala...
Bolivar... Carroll... Choctaw... Clay... Grenada... Holmes...
Humphreys... Leflore... Lowndes... Montgomery... Noxubee...
Oktibbeha... Sunflower... Washington... Webster and Winston.

* Through this evening

* showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall are expected
today... especially through midday. Localized rainfall accumulations
of several inches are possible in a short period of time. Some of
these areas have already experienced one to three inches of rain in
the past 24 hours... raising the potential for flash flooding.

* At 12:00 PM Friday the stage was 34.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 37.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise to near 36.5 feet by Tuesday July
14.
* Impact... at 35.0 feet... the Road to Donaldson Point is cut off.
