... Flood Watch in effect from 5 PM EDT this afternoon through
late tonight...

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has expanded
the

* Flood Watch to include portions of Virginia and northeast West
Virginia... including the following areas... in Virginia...
Clarke... Culpeper... Frederick VA... northern Fauquier...
Orange... Shenandoah... southern Fauquier... Spotsylvania...
Stafford and Warren. In northeast West Virginia... Hampshire
and Hardy.

* From 5 PM EDT this afternoon through late tonight

* moderate to locally heavy rain will overspread the region late
this afternoon through tonight. Rainfall totals around one and a
half inches are expected across the Virginia Piedmont to the
northern Shenandoah Valley. Locally higher amounts are
possible... especially along and immediately east of the Blue
Ridge.

* Expect small streams and creeks to rise... possibly overflowing
their banks. In addition... flooding may occur in low lying and
poor drainage areas.

current forecasts.
