Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:34 AM EST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to
6 PM EST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for light snow and travel impacts... which is in
effect from 5 PM this afternoon to 6 PM EST Tuesday.

* Timing... this evening through at least Tuesday evening.

* Main impact... periods of moderate to briefly heavy snow showers
will impact travel at times. Roads may become slick and snow
covered... especially secondary and untreated surfaces.

* Other impacts... gusty winds along with moderate snow showers may
reduce visibility at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Research shows that more traffic accidents occur with an inch or
less of snow... before drivers realize that traction is reduced.
Don't become a statistic... slow down and leave extra distance
between vehicles.

Special Statement
Issued: 6:51 AM CST Feb. 8, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Light to moderate snow this morning...

A batch of showers moving toward the I-65 corridor this morning
will start off as a rain and snow mix before transitioning to
light to moderate snow. This snow may cause a brief dusting on
grassy surfaces as well as visibility reductions in the heavier
showers over the next couple of hours. If encountering these
patches of heavier snow... remember to slow down and keep plenty of
distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.

... Snow showers this afternoon through Tuesday evening...

After a morning mix of light rain and snow showers... colder air
will filter into the region late this afternoon producing scattered
to numerous moderate snow showers through at least Tuesday
evening. Each passing snow shower may quickly produce a light
coating of snow creating slick spots especially on untreated
roadways. Overall up to 2 inches of snow is possible through
Tuesday evening. In addition... gusty winds combined with the snow
showers may cause reductions in visibility at times. Use caution
if planning to travel this evening through Tuesday evening.
