... The Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until
600 PM EDT/500 PM CDT/ for Rhea... central McMinn... northeastern
Bledsoe and Meigs counties...

At 456 PM EDT /356 PM CDT/... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain has
fallen due to thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream
flooding in the advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Athens... Dayton... Decatur... Spring City... Graysville... Niota...
Peakland... Big Spring... Ten Mile... Stinging Fork Falls S.P... .
Grandview... Murray Store... Piney falls S.P... .Hillsview...
Evensville... Clear Water... Old Washington... Melvine and Riceville.

Light rainfall is expected over the area over the next hour as the
precipitation tapers off... but runoff issues and any Urban and Small
Stream flooding will also continue late this afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.
