Statement as of 9:35 am CST on December 1, 2009 ... Very dry November... After two wet months... November was very dry in Nashville. Only 0.67 of an inch of rain fell... which made it the third driest November on record and 3.78 inches below normal. The average temperature was 51.2 degrees... which is 1.9 degrees above normal. The highest temperature was 74 on the 7th and 8th... and the coldest was 29 degrees on the 27th. The 29 reading tied for the latest freeze ever in Nashville... first set way back in 1902. Crossville averaged 49.0 degrees for the month... 2.1 degrees above normal. The warmest temperature was 74 degrees on the 8th... while the coldest was 28 on the 28th. Total rainfall was 1.67 inches... which is 3.56 inches below normal. Clarksville averaged 51.1 degrees for the month and tabulated 1.16 inches of rainfall. The warmest temperature was 75 degrees on the 7th and 8th... and the coldest was 28 on the 27th and 30th. For the fall months of September... October and November... the average temperature in Nashville was 60.1 degrees... which is .1 degree below normal. The total rainfall was 18.24 inches... which is 7.33 inches above normal. This was the 4th wettest fall in Nashville on record. At Crossville for the season... the average temperature was 57.5 degrees... which is 0.8 degree above normal. The total rainfall was 15.27 inches... which is 2.89 inches above normal. Clarksville averaged 59.2 degrees for the fall... and tabulated 15.14 inches of rainfall.
