Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 1:24 PM MDT on July 06, 2015

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a

* small stream Flood Advisory for...
central La Plata County in southwestern Colorado...
east central Montezuma County in southwestern Colorado...

* until 415 PM MDT

* at 119 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms in open country 8 miles northwest of Durango. This
will cause small stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to one
inch of rain has already fallen. The storms responsible heavy rain
were rebuilding over the area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... dont drown. Never drive your vehicle into areas where
the water covers the roadway.

Excessive runoff will cause minor flooding of small creeks and
streams... as well as ranch and country roads. Do not attempt to
travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

Please report flooding to the Grand Junction National Weather Service
office when you can do so safely.
