Winter Storm Warning
Statement as of 8:50 PM CST on March 04, 2015

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am CST
Thursday...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow remains in effect until
6 am CST Thursday.

* Short term trends... light to occasionally moderate snow will
continue this evening before tapering off to flurries overnight.
Visibilities may still be reduced to a half mile at times within
bands of moderate snow.

* Timing and areas affected... areas of southern Missouri mainly
south of Highway 60 and east of Kimberling City through late
tonight.

* Snow and sleet accumulations... storm total amounts of 4 to 6
inches are expected. Localized amounts up to 7 inches are
possible across far south central Missouri.

* Visibility... moderate snow may reduce visibilities down to a half
mile at times.

* Impacts... snow on top of the sleet that fell early Wednesday
will likely result in considerable travel impacts across the
area into Thursday morning. The Missouri Department of
Transportation continues to indicate that roads are snow covered
and hazardous... especially south of the Highway 60 corridor.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of
snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in
an emergency. If you must travel... consider taking a winter storm
kit along with you. This kit should include such items as tire
chains... booster cables... a flashlight... shovel... blankets...
extra clothing and anything else that would help you survive in
case you become stranded.
