At 9:27 am...National Weather Service radars continued to indicate widespread showers and thunderstorms over eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. This activity continues to gradually shift south through the area...while general movement remains toward the east southeast at around 30 mph. Through 10:45 am...showers and thunderstorms will continue across the area...with the focus for the heavier rains shifting to east- central Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Rainfall rates within the heavier downpours will likely exceed one inch per hour...resulting in localized flooding issues. Gusty winds to 40 mph and frequent lightning will also be possible with thunderstorms. The rainfall across northeast Oklahoma will be much lighter during this time...with average hourly rainfall rates of around one tenth of an inch.
