Nowcast | as of 4:24 PM MST on March 2, 2015

Rain and high elevation snow showers will continue to expand in areal coverage over the western half of New Mexico through the remainder of the afternoon and into the evening. Isolated thunderstorms cannot be ruled out in The Four Corners region as well as near and west of the Continental Divide. Snow accumulation levels will generally vary between 8000 to 9000 feet with a dusting to a couple inches of new snow expected at the highest elevations and a few to several hundredths of an inch of rainfall below. Pockets of heavy rain will be most common from Farmington...Shiprock south to Gallup...Zuni...Fence Lake...Luna and Glenwood. Areas of moderate to occasionally heavy snow will favor the higher west and southwest slopes of mountain ranges in northwest New Mexico where visibility will periodically be reduced.
