Nowcast | as of 1:40 PM CDT on September 21, 2014

At 1:40 PM...National Weather Service Doppler radars continued to detect widely scattered rain showers and isolated thunderstorms effecting portions of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas...mainly within creek...Okfuskee...northern Le Flore...and Sebastian counties. These showers and storms were developing along and behind a cold front that was pushing through the area. All this activity was moving toward the southeast...around 30 miles per hour. Through 3:00 PM...widely scattered showers with a few embedded thunderstorms will continue to move to the south across portions of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Precipitation will be light...with less than a tenth of an inch per hour expected. Any embedded thunderstorms could produce brief moderate rainfall...along with lightning and a few rumbles of thunder.
