Nowcast | as of 5:21 PM CDT on August 27, 2014

At 5:21 PM...National Weather Service Doppler radars continued to detect widely scattered showers and thunderstorms developing over far eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas...mainly within the higher elevation areas. No strong to severe weather has been reported. All this activity was slowly moving toward the west...around 20 miles per hour. Through 7:00 PM...isolated rain showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop...mainly across the higher elevation areas of far eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. The showers and storms will be short lived...and bring brief light to moderate rainfall to some locations. If any of the storms become strong...they will be capable of producing cloud to ground lightning...along with heavy rainfall and gusty winds. The activity is expected to diminish shortly after sunset.
