Nowcast | as of 9:16 PM CDT on September 15, 2014

At 9:16 PM...National Weather Service Doppler radars detected scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over far northeast Oklahoma into the extreme northwest corner of Benton County in Arkansas. Isolated light showers were also occurring over Choctaw and Pushmataha counties in far southeast Oklahoma. All of this activity was moving off to the east at around 25 mph. Through 10:30 PM...scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will continue over the northeast corner of Oklahoma...with this activity expected to continue to expand in coverage across far northwest Arkansas. Additional activity may also occur further west across northeast Oklahoma along the leading edge of a cold front moving through the area. Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall and brief gusty winds to 40 mph will be possible with the stronger showers and any thunderstorms that occur. Passing light showers will also remain possible for areas of far southeast Oklahoma...along and south of a Boswell to Big Cedar line. Average hourly rainfall of less than one tenth of an inch will be common with this activity.
