The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
southern Granville County in central North Carolina...
northwestern Wake County in central North Carolina...
Durham County in central North Carolina...

* until 930 am EDT

* at 731 am EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
Urban and Small Stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to two
inches of rain have already fallen in this area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Raleigh... Durham... Cary... Creedmoor... Butner... Rougemont... rdu
international... apex... Morrisville and Stem.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Do not attempt to travel
across flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few
inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
